Why Demand is Booming for Delta-8-THC
Demand for Delta-8—currently one of the most popular cannabinoids inside the hemp plant—has been surging in the United States. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized widespread hemp farming and distribution, opening the door for many hemp products to be made and distributed.
One exception: Delta-9. Levels of Delta-9-THC are required to be less than the legal limit, which is 0.3 percent THC. Products also have to be derived from the hemp plant itself. However, guidelines for other cannabinoids including Delta-8-THC and Delta-10-THC (Burman’s newest cannabinoid!) were never specified.
Thanks to the new Farm Bill, more companies were able to access the resources to research and experiment with cannabinoids. While experimenting with Delta-8-THC, the ‘brother’ of Delta-9-THC, these companies found it had similar effects as the popular cannabinoid Delta-9-THC.
Now as consumers find relief from Delta-8, the demand continues to grow, and more products are hitting the market. Delta-8 was initially available in a vapor form, but now there are Delta-8 gummies, flowers, oils, candies, concentrate, liquid drinks, and cookies.
